Classification of Transmission Modes through a Narrow Slot in a Thick Conducting Screen

چکیده

This paper examines electromagnetic energy transmission through a narrow slot in thick conducting plate when plane wave is incident to the slot. The creates waveguide structure. From perspective of cutoff frequency, characteristics are classified into three modes. cavity resonance (TCR) mode range above depends on thickness, and peak cross-sections (TCSs) appear periodically along known as Fabry-Perot resonance. near-cutoff (NCRT) length maximum TCS appears only once (or transverse resonance). for NCRT occurs with thin which produces non-transmission (NTC) non-resonance not propagated. All TCSs TCR modes occur parallel analysis results show that classification effectively explained by aperture impedance.

Slot Antenna in a Resistive Screen

Loss resistance and efficiency are calculated for a slot in a resistive screen and for the complementary dipole. Double numerical integration of the magnetic near field is used. Strip dipole loss resistance is three to five times that of the complementary slot for short elements.
